What is your New Year’s resolution?

It is that time of year again… I couldn’t believe how quickly another year has passed.

Since it is that time of year again – What is your New Year’s Resolution?

Go to the gym more often? Be more on time? Or actually plan to do some regular practice? These are resolutions I planned for myself in previous years, but whatever your resolutions are, I couldn’t help but to agree what Joyce Didonato’s words of wisdom.

Ever wonder if kids ever audition?

With growing trends of musicals using/featuring in musicals such as Matilda, Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and one of the latest shows – School Of  Rock, this is an eye opening article for us to get an insight of what an audition is like for a child actor.

Just because they are kids, it doesn’t mean they get it any easier than adults!

West Side Stories – The Making Of A Classic

Now here’s a documentary that is well worth watching! West Side Story is a ground breaking musical in both music and in choreography. The story is a modern take on the classic story of Romeo And Juliet, but with music written by Leonard Bernstein and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.

This is a fascinating watch! The documentary takes you through the creative, audition and rehearsal process of West Side Story, with interviews with original cast members, Hal Prince and Stephen Sondheim himself. What more could you ask for on Boxing Day?

If you don’t know West Side Story, I suggest you at least get familiar with it by listen to the soundtrack on Youtube. Its truly a master piece!!

PS – As its on BBC iplayer, make sure you watch it before it expires at the end of Jan 2017

Are we diversify enough?

Do you think our theatre circle is too racially biased?

Andrew Lloyd Webber seem to think so…

What do you think?
