Young Frankenstein

DISCOVERY TUESDAY

Young Frankenstein is a musical written by Mel Brooks, who also famously wrote the musical The Producers.

Young Frankenstein is the wickedly inspired re-imagining of Mary Shelley’s classic novel, which sees the creation of a creature that cannot be controlled. When Frederick Frankenstein, a New York brain surgeon and professor, inherits a Transylvanian castle and laboratory from his genius, but
deranged grandfather, Victor Von Frankenstein, he quickly has some decisions to make.

Facing a scary dilemma, young Frankenstein must choose whether to run from his grandfather’s frightening legacy or to continue to crazily experiment withreanimating the dead. And, in the process, will he fall in love with his sultry lab assistant, Inga? (source)

The show will open at London’s Garrick Theatre on 10 October 2017, with previews from 28 September and its probably a good idea to get to know the show as some of you am sure Continue reading

Freaky Friday A New Musical

Freaky Friday is one of my most beloved ‘real-life’ movie by Disney. To know that a stage musical version will be produced, I am beyond excited! The story talks about a body swapping experience between a mother and daughter and how they learn to appreciate one another through the act of selfless love. The movie, starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, was extremely popular and I would recommend everyone to watch it if you haven’t already watched it. Top 10 Broadway Medley

Over the past decade, there is a growing trend/phenomenon in acapella groups/singing with Pentatonix being one of the most successful groups to date.

Nevertheless, this acapella group – Voiceplay made a number of medley videos, but below is a rendition of their top 10 Broadway medley. Partly because it’s just cool to watch, but I also hope this put a smile on your face too 🙂

Enjoy!

Honeymoon In Vegas

DISCOVERY TUESDAY

Honeymoon In Vegas is Jason Robert Brown’s latest musical. It first appeared as a film in 1992 following the same name.

The plot:

“Mild-mannered Brooklynite, Jack, promised his dying mother that he would never get married, but that was before he met his sweet and beautiful girlfriend, Betsy. Haunted by a fear of Mom’s retribution, Jack avoids proposing but, when he finally summons the nerve to whisk oh-so-patient Betsy off to Las Vegas to get hitched, a dashing gambler named Tommy threatens to sweep his fiancée away to a life of luxury in Hawaii. Realising what he’s about to lose, Jack is determined to do anything to give his love story a happy ending. It all adds up to an action-packed honeymoon that no one will ever forget!” (MTI)

The music follows the older/golden-age classic big band style. I’ve included the soundtrack below, however, if you prefer to purchase the album, you can buy the album from iTunes here or listen to it on Spotify here.

It Sucks To Be Me

This is a little fun video for you all…

So apparently a new TV show called I Can Do That in America where they put celebrities in teams, giving them unique acts to perform and hopefully discover something/a hidden skill they don’t even know they have/can do.

Most recently, Nicole Scherzinger and Joe Jonas took on the challenge and performed It Sucks To Be Me from Avenue Q. This looks like a very entertaining TV programme, I might just dig a little deeper and see what else they’ve been doing… But for the time being, see what you think 🙂
